Das bretteleben.de "Very Simple Image Gallery" Plugin für Joomla!2.5 und Joomla!3.1 ist ein Downgrade des genialen Plugins "Simple Image Gallery" von Fotis Evangelou und George Chouliaras zu einer "Web 1.0" Galerie. Die Bilder werden in meiner modifizierten Version nicht in einer Javascript-Lightbox angezeigt sondern das Plugin erzeugt ein grosses Bild mit darunter angeordneten Thumbnails.  Set 2/2      Einschränkungen/VorschauIn der aktuellen Version des Plugins ist ein Script für den gesamten Ablauf zuständig. Das kann bei sehr großen Originalbildern beim Skalieren dazu führen, dass die maximale Laufzeit für Scripts überschritten wird und PHP das Script mit einem Fehler beendet. In diesem Fall reicht es, die Seite ein oder zwei mal neu aufzurufen. Dann sind alle Bilder skaliert. Das tritt nur bei der Einrichtung einer Galerie auf, den Seitenbesucher trifft das nicht. In kommenden Versionen des Plugins werde ich die Funktionalität des Skalierens wieder in eine externe Datei auslagern. VoraussetzungenDas Plugin verwendet die PHP GD library zur Generierung der Bilder und Thumbnails. my joomla verson is 1.5.23, so i downloaded: J!1.5.x - plg_verysimpleimagegallery_v1.6.5_J1.5.zip
n trying to install as described by you at http://www.bretteleben.de/lang-en/joomla/very-simple-image-gallery/-anleitung-plugin.html,
so at step 5 i get an error :
JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Warning! Failed to move file.
So please help it's really very urgent,

The error is not specific for this extension but indicates that there is a problem with the configuration of your site at all.
A possible reason are the settings for the tmp-directory (open_basedir restrictions), that prevent the Joomla! installer to use the tmp-directory to install the extension.
Please have a look at this page (http://docs.joomla.org/Why_can't_you_install_any_extensions%3F ), it deals with the most common reasons for these kind of problems.

The problem was that #article->id is always empty when article gets loaded in module RokTab (also in other modules I got this problem). I've solved my issue by adopting the vsig code with the following (I added the last line):
//create a unique identifier for the current gallery
$identifier=(isset($article->id))?($article->id."_".$sigcount):($this->myarticleid."_".$sigcount);
$identifier=(array_key_exists("id",$vsig_overrides))?($vsig_overrides['id']."_".$sigcount):($identifier);
Now I can set vsig id attribute an unique string in each article which I load into a tab.
Example:
Article 1: {*vsig}tabimages/1|id=tab01|width=500{/vsig*}
Article 2: {*vsig}tabimages/2|id=tab02|width=500{/vsig*}
Maybe a nice welcome new feature for your great plugin!

Thanks for sharing this hack, and yes, the problem will be solved with the next update - but without necessary user interaction. The "new" way to determine unique identities is already integrated in the update Joomla!1.6 version of the "Panoramic Image Viewer" Plugin and I will adopt it for my other plugins too.

Our former ICT-expert installed the 'picture gallery plugin' on our Joomla-server (version 1.5.22). In the beginning, everything seemed to work, but nowadays I cannot upload any pictures anymore.
When I upload the pictures (JPG) in a .zip file, everything seems to work. But when I visit my own website, the pictures cannot be opened. I only see some white squares.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Why are you uploading the images packed in a zip-archive? The plugin has no builtin functionality to unpack archives. Have you tried uploading the images via the Joomla! Media Manager? - Unpacked!

Hallo, bin eine Anfängerin in Sachen Joomla 1.7. habe das Plugin der Gallerie erfolgreich installiert. Sehe es auch unter Plugins und habe es aktiviert.
Jetzt möchte ich die Galerie natürlich in meinem vorgesehenen Menüeintrag einbinden über "Menütyp". Leider kann ich die Galerie
aber in der Auswahl nicht finden. Müsste ich Sie nicht auch unter Komponenten finden ? Habe schon überall nach einer Lösung gesucht und nichts gefunden. Was mache ich falsch ?
Über eine schnelle Rückantwort wäre ich sehr dankbar ;-) !

Ein Galerie-Plugin erzeugt - über den eingegebenen Code - eine Galerie in einem von Dir erstellten Artikel.
Die "Very Simple Image Gallery" ist ein Plugin.

Muss man die Vorwärts-Rückwärts-Buttons separat installieren/uoloaden? Jedenfalls habe ich keinen Button-Ordner in meinem Image-Ordner gefunden (Version für J1.7).

Nein, die Default-Buttons werden mit dem Plugin installiert und liegen im Ordner /plugins/content/verysimpleimagegallery/files.

Der "weiße Rahmen" ist eigentlich der Bildhintergrund, der eigentliche Rahmen ist die dünne graue Haarlinie außen. Entfernen lässt sich das ganze nur sehr aufwändig, da alle Berechnungen betreffend Größe/Abstände darauf aufbauen, aber falls Du doch Änderungen vornehmen möchtest (z.B. Hintergrund und Rahmen auf die Farbe des Seitenhintergrundes setzen), Du findest die Einstellungen im Stylesheet /plugins/content/plugin_vsig/vsig.css (Joomla!1.5) und zwar im Selektor .vsig_top img {} für das Hauptbild und im Selektor .vsig_thumb img {} für die Thumbnails.

To change the font (family, size, ...) of the captions, open the stylesheet of the plugin /plugins/content/plugin_vsig/vsig.css with a text editor.
The selectors ".vsig_top div span {}" (title line) and ".vsig_top div span + span {}" (text line) set the appearance of the captions.

i use joomla 1.5.12 and the latest version of css gallery. it works fine, but vertical pictures are not displayed properly, there is always some other picture displayed in the background. how can i change this?

I have a problem here, I need to give access to frontend user to upload their own images without accessing the backend file. Everything works fine until I find out that there's no delete/remove button for the image file.
How can frontend user remove their unwanted image file?

This plugin neither allows to upload images nor does it allow to delete images, it just displays the images within a given folder as a gallery. That's it. :)
