Das bretteleben.de "Simple Picture Slideshow" Plugin für Joomla 1.5 ist ein - wie der Name schon sagt - einfaches Plugin zur Darstellung einer Slideshow in einem Beitrag. Die Bilder werden überblendet, der Effekt funktioniert mit den gängigen Browsern. Die Slideshow wird wahlweise über einen Link/Button, oder aber automatisch mit dem Laden der Seite gestartet. Features: - unterstützte Bildformate .jpg, .png und .gif
- im Beitrag positionierbar (links, rechts, zentriert, float links, float rechts)
- beliebig viele Slideshows in einem Beitrag
- jede einzelne Slideshow beliebig konfigurierbar(Parameter Overrides)
- zu jedem Bild kann Titel und Text angezeigt werden (Captions)
- optional ist ein Titel/Text für die gesamte Slideshow möglich
- jedes Bild kann gesondert verlinkt werden (Links)
- optional ist ein Link für die gesamte Slideshow möglich
- wahlweise mit Autostart

- die Bilder können alphabetisch auf- oder absteigend, nach Änderungsdatum auf- oder absteigend oder zufällig sortiert werden
- als ALT-Text angezeigt wird der Titel des Links falls Links aktiviert sind
sind keine Links aktiviert dann die Titelzeile der Captions (auch wenn diese nicht aktiviert sind!)
nur wenn es weder Link noch Caption gibt, wird der Dateiname (ohne Endung) verwendet

Hinweise zum Update:
Wer das Stylesheet besps.css modifiziert hat, sollte es vor einem Update sichern, da es überschrieben wird!

Das zweite Beispiel verwendet folgenden Code (mit Parameter Overrides):

Einschränkungen/Vorschau Das Feature Bilder per Script nachzuladen arbeitet derzeit im "fire&forget" Modus. Das bedeutet, es erfolgt beim Aufruf keine Kontrolle, ob das Dummybild wirklich bereits ersetzt wurde. Das wird ein Punkt sein, an dem Nachfolgeversionen anknüpfen. Kompatibilität Das Plugin ist unter Joomla 1.5.6 und 1.5.15 erfolgreich getestet, das Zusammenspiel mit den verschiedensten anderen Erweiterungen mag aber Probleme mit sich bringen.
Ich empfehle einen Testlauf vor dem Einsatz auf einer aktiven Seite und stehe für Fragen und Anregungen immer gerne zur Verfügung. The link you provide gives me an error 404: 404 - Article #597 not found
If this is the problem - it has nothing to do with the slideshow because the slideshow is only part of an article, it does not create them.

Not there is not and about adding this - not really, I'd rather add slideshow-functionality to the Very Simple Image Gallery, but that's also just a plan up till now.

wanted to know if there's an option for thumbnails or u have that in mind for future versions. Yet to try it but read many reviews and can see it's cool.

Thanks for your reply. It works now in the module - i used the Module: Content with Plugins - i found this better than the plugin within the module - which was the other option. Mostly because you can then edit the plugin from the article manager itself and it is easier to embed links and captions this way.

To float the slideshow right in your article (and have it surrounded by text) you might want to try the alignment "float right" in the configuration panel. It does not work properly with every layout (at least without additional tuning), but it may be what you are looking for.
About your second question, not all modules for custom code (and this is what you need to display the slideshow at a module position - i.e. outside of the main content) fire the needed events for content plugins to work and not all of them allow a plugin to write to the head of the page. You may want to have a look at the page "FAQ&Troubleshooting" in the section of the Very Simple Image Gallery (menu at the left), it lists 2 extensions, reported to work with my plugins.

I was able to follow your excellent "how to" instal notes. I am a complete novice, with no css or php knowledge. The querie I have are:
1. When I add the slide show to an article, it displaces the article text. I want the slideshow to operate in the same way as if I had just added an image in the WYSIWYG editor for the article ie the image aligns on the right and the article text will run down the left alongside the image. However, with the slideshow, the article text is moved down the page below the slideshow.
2. Can I only show slideshow in an article? How can I get slideshow to display in other parts of the site e.g. left or right sidebars?
