Getting informed in the 02/2008 edition of the german PHP JOURNAL that my slideshow-script may probably cause problems with "older browsers", i decided that my - coded around 2001 - scripts may not have lost all there right to exist and that it could be worth to rework them once again.

bretteleben.de JavaScript Slideshow - Updated 20100412!
A simple slideshow-script, started onload or by link, the transition is fading, once started, the script runs nonstop.
Display
The script shows the given images in the selected DIV-container. It is started either automatically on page load or by the click on optional control-elements. On page load the script replaces the contents of the given DIV-container which gives you the opportunity to integrate a static picture or a notice (like: the slideshow requires JavaScript) thus providing a fallback for visitors with JavaScript disabled.

Updated 20081005!The JavaScript "panorama" provides an alternative for those, who - for whatever reason - want to avoid using Flash, Java or a movie player for the presentation of panoramic images. Display:
The Javascript shows inside a div-container an adjustable section of the panoramic-image. Beyond this section 2 arrows are shown. They allow to scroll the image to the left or to the right on mouseover. On pageload the contents of the given div-container gets overwritten. This behaviour gives you the possibility to display a static image or an advice like - for example - "the panorama needs javascript" for visitors with javascript disabled. |

The JavaScript "gallery" is a combination of slideshow and gallery. The mode is selected on an integrated splash screen, also it is possible to switch from one mode to the other.
The gallery offers the possibility to work with different sets of pictures, to switch between them, to scroll and zoom a picture an to show text for each single picture.
The slideshow starts automatically, set text is shown here too.
The JavaScript can be used with fixed size, full screen or integrated into a page by inline frame. |

bretteleben.de JavaScript Lake - Updated 20081207!The JavaScript "lake" results from my attempt to replace a - used with a former version of my private homepage - Java Applet from David Griffith with JavaScript.
Because i was not able to find such a script - i decided to write one on my one. Display:The result is not exactly what i wanted to achieve and does not reach the original, but it offers at least similar functionality. One may ripple the lower part of a picture, mirror the upper part of the image about a virtual waterline, underlay a second picture to shimmer through the water or overlay the picture with a - partial transparent - picture. |

The JavaScript produces a small, movable cube, consisting of its eight corners only, optionally showing an image. The programming is not really neat, due to my lacking mathematical knowledge. Anyway - it works. The cube is linked to the cursor, you can move it around the screen and that's it. Practical use? None.
The JavaScript is till now tested as follows: | | | | | | Internet Explorer
| 6 | | | | | Internet Explorer | 7.0 | J | | | | Internet Explorer | 8 | | | | | Firefox
| 2.0.0.16 | J | | | | Firefox
| 3.0.1 | J | | | | Opera
| 9.25 | J | | | | Safari
| 3.11 | J | | | |

Miscellaneous: I am happy about everybody who gives me a link back to www.bretteleben.de on his website, this way helping me to popularize the script. If you have questions or suggestions about this JavaScript, please use the comment-function. Records about the behavior of this script with further browsers/operating systems would be appreciated. The ZIP-archive contains a demo-page, all configurable parameters are commented inside the script. |
