A step for step tutorial on how to install and use the bretteleben.de Panoramic Image Viewer Module.

Installation

1.) Log into your administration interface

2.) Go to "Extensions" > "Install/Uninstall"

3.) Select the Package File with the bretteleben.de Panoramic Image Viewer Module

4.) Click "Upload file & Install"

5.) If everything worked fine, you get the message "Install Module Success"

Imagefolder

Next we need the image. We upload it to a folder in (Joomla-Installation)/images/stories.

1.) Go to "Site" > "Media Manager"

2.) Navigate to the folder "Media" > "stories"

3.) Create a new subfolder for your image. In this sample I choose the name "panorama"

4.) Navigate to the new folder.

5.) ... and upload your image to it. In this sample its the file panorama.jpg.

Konfiguration and Usage

1.) Select "Extensions" > "Module Manager"

2.) Find the "Panoramic Image Viewer Module" and click it

3.) The first parameter is the folder we just created for our image - relative to (Joomla-Installation)/images/stories. In our sample the folder "panorama" is directly in the folder /images/stories, so we insert "panorama" here.

If there would be a subfolder e.g. "misc" in our folder panorama, and the image stored in the subfolder, we would insert "panorama/misc"

4.) The next parameter is the name of the image-file, in our sample "panorama.jpg"

5.) Now we set the width of the panorama in pixel ...

6.) ... and the height of the panorama in pixel.

An image that exceeds this value will get scaled within the visitors browser. Best practice is to scale the image offline. Doing so you get the best-possible image-quality combined with the smallest-possible image-filesize.

7.) The parameter "Scroll Speed" sets the timeout between two scroll-steps in milliseconds. Smaller means faster.

8.) "Scroll step" sets, how many pixel one step should move the picture. The larger the value the faster the scrolling, the smaller the value the smoother the scrolling.

9.) "Start at pageload" sets if the panorama starts to scroll at page load or if we show control-elements.

10.) If we start automatically, here we choose the direction.

11.) If we show control-elements, this parameter sets if text-links or buttons are shown.

The extension installs the images left.png and right.png to the folder (Joomla-Installation)/module/mod_bepiv/tmpl. Replace them with your own buttons, if they don´t blend with your template.

12.) Panorama link: If we want to have the panorama linked, this is the place to set the URI. Insert the complete link, including the protocol.
e.g.: http://www.bretteleben.de

If the parameter is empty, no link is created by the module.

13.) "Panorama link title" allows to set a title for the above created link.
e.g.: bretteleben.de

If parameter 12.) stays empty, a given title is used for the alt- and title-tag of the panorama-image.

14.) "Target for link - if set" decides if to open the link in the current (Top) or a new (Blank) browser windowl.

15.) Next, set the title of the module to fit your needs and decide if to show itl.

16.) Activate the module.

17.) Choose the module-position.

18.) Choose the menu-items to show the module ...

19.) ... save and done.

That´s it, have fun with the module!

Hi Emmanuel!

No, up till now the only way to do so is to stitch the images together offline.

Best regards
Andreas

Hallo Mani!

Nein, bislang ist nur 1 Bild möglich (ausgehend von meiner bequemen Annahme dass in einen 360 Grad Kreis nur ein 360 Grad Panorama passt :))

Hi!

If you posted a comment and it didn´t appear and there was no reaction up till now - no, the system is working, it´s me who had to move to another city. I will answer your question within the next 48 hours.
